what we do.

Helping Homeless Families Achieve Self Sufficiency

We are a Christian Foundation that is committed to serving the homeless families in our community, especially those with children who attend Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. We understand the challenges and barriers that these families face, such as lack of affordable housing, low wages, health issues, and so much more. We also know that these families have strengths, skills, and dreams that can be nurtured and supported.

That is why we offer a range of services that aim to help homeless families go from getting them off the street all the way to self-sufficiency. Our services include:

Government program navigation and qualification

We assist families through partnerships to access and apply for various government programs and benefits that they may be eligible for, such as food stamps, Medicaid, childcare subsidies, and rent assistance. We also help them understand the requirements and obligations of these programs and how to comply with them.

As a Christian Foundation, we are deeply committed to the mission of supporting our neighbors who find themselves in the grip of homelessness and poverty. Our foundation is built on the firm belief that God’s love encompasses every individual. This belief propels us to action, guiding us to live out the teachings found in the Holy Scriptures. Proverbs 3:28 “Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you” – when you already have it with you.  This verse serves as a constant reminder that when we have the capacity to assist those in need, we should do so without hesitation or delay, embodying the virtues of compassion and generosity that are central to our faith in Jesus Christ.

Our commitment to these values is manifested in the broad spectrum of services we provide, all aimed at empowering families to break the cycle of poverty and achieve lasting housing stability and self-sufficiency. Recognizing the multifaceted nature of homelessness and poverty, we endeavor to address not just the immediate physical needs of those we serve but also the underlying factors that contribute to their situation.
